The Museum showcases over two hundred years of prison life! Here you can see the weapons and amazing matchstick models crafted by prisoners.
Constructed by Thomas Telford, the prison has been on the current site since 1793. A number of public executions have taken place at the site.
We welcome all visitors though, as a historic Victorian building, there are some restrictions. Disabled facilities are available on the ground floor only. Please get in touch with any questions.
