Duty Manager- Visitor Centre – 32 hours per week

£10.50ph

Shrewsbury Prison has an exciting new vacancy for a Duty Manager, to oversee our thriving Visitor Centre. The role of the Duty Manager is a key leadership position within the organisation. The role will include responsibilities for managing the day – to – day operations of a heritage-led tourism attraction, formerly a decommissioned prison. This role is for 32 hours per week and the pay rate is £10.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

· Managing the team of Customers Sales Assistants, including creating rotas and ensuring training ends are met

· Shift management of the Prison

· Ensuring employee productivity

· Managing the gift shop, including monitoring, logging and ordering of stock

· Delivering first class customer service, including dealing with enquiries and complaints, engaging with customer reviews across social media platforms, and engaging with customers on site

· Working alongside the other Duty Managers, site manager and front of House Team with social media, including posts, stories, and replying to comments and messages.

Restaurant Assistant – 24 Hours (Weekdays/ Weekends)

£9.50 per hour.

Shrewsbury Prison are looking for an enthusiastic person to become a member of our restaurant team. Our Restaurant is open Monday-Sunday, 10am-5pm, plus one late evening and one early morning every 2 weeks. Hours of work will generally be 9.30am-5.30pm on a rota system. Our Restaurant offers café-style food which includes hot food, cakes, snacks, and teas & coffees. We also provide catering and buffets for larger private bookings such as corporate team-building and group overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

· Following opening and closing procedures to ensure maximum efficiency

· Maintaining a high level of food safety and hygiene

· Delivering excellent customer service

· Preparing and plating food to a high standard

· Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen area

· Completely regular stock intakes and reporting food wastage

· Completing daily paperwork

· Feedback ideas on how to further improve existing menus/ restaurant

· Develop ideas for future menus/ restaurant

· Catering for private functions and events including some evening events

· Baking and desert preparation when required

· Support colleagues and other teams within the prison

· Occasional till work · Occasional front of house work

Personal Requirements:

· Confident

· Flexible

· Reliable

· Great customer service skills

Desired experience:

· Working in a café style restaurant

· Customer service

· Technical cooking skills Certificate in food hygiene is desirable but not essential.
