Site Manager – 32 Hours per week / £25,000 (£31,250 FTE)

Due to an internal promotion, Shrewsbury Prison has an exciting new vacancy for a Site Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for the overall operations of the site. This unique and varied role is ideal for someone with experience in leading teams and a background in tourism or heritage.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the operations of Shrewsbury Prison Attraction
  • Managing the delivery of products & services
  • Ensuring customer service standards are met
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety practices are in place and up to date
  • Ensuring all fire related documents are reviewed and up to date, on an annual basis
  • Ensuring all employees have a staff development plan that is kept updated
  • Ensuring Managers are on top of training records for their teams
  • Working towards a high level of staff morale by supporting employees
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to further support careers for our employees
  • Managing budgets and supporting the creating alongside finance teams and directors
  • Leading the way to deliver our mission statements
  • Completing monthly building inspections

Shrewsbury Prison is a heritage led tourist attraction. Built in 1791 and servicing as Shropshire’s county’s prison, until its closure in 2013.

Opening in 2015, Shrewsbury Prison began its journey of developing into a heritage attraction. It is now considered the world’s most interactive prison tourism company, alongside being Shropshire’s number 1 tourist destination, and the worlds 6th dark tourist attraction.

Shrewsbury Prison provides visitors an authentic Georgian, Victorian, and modern-day prison experience, led by ex-prison officers with a wealth of experience and time ‘served’. There are a wide range of tours, activities and events happening at the prison, as well as education visits, team building, private hire, and production usage.

This role is 32 hours per week, with a salary of £25,000 per annum.

This role is mostly Monday-Friday, with some evening and weekend shifts when required.

Marketing Manager – 32 Hours per week / £25,000 (£31,250 FTE)

Based at Shrewsbury Prison, The Campbell Group of Companies has an exciting new vacancy for a Marketing Manager. Working with an existing marketing team, the role involves the continual development and delivery of the marketing strategy across our Attraction Division, which encompasses Shrewsbury Prison Ltd and Shepton Mallet Prison Ltd, with a plan to grow the attractions within the division and diversify our portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Development and delivery of the marketing strategy
  • Management and distribution of the marketing budget
  • Development & delivery of digital media advertising
  • Working with external partners in content creation & website
  • Taking responsibility for SEO terms
  • Leading the marketing team, as well as providing guidance and mentorship to further support careers
  • Ensuring the brand guidelines are followed
  • Supporting the delivery of our mission statements
