Discover ghostly tales, follow a trick or treat trail and dance your bones off behind bars

Your Halloween Sentence is to Dance

For something a little different this Halloween, swap the usual night out for a night behind bars. On 31 October, Shrewsbury Prison opens its doors after dark for a Halloween Silent Disco, with three music channels to choose from, roaming scare actors, a fancy-dress competition and plenty of Halloween surprises along the way.

Choose your soundtrack, grab your friends and dance your way through one of the UK’s most atmospheric historic prisons. The event is strictly 18+ and runs across two sessions: Early Frights from 5pm–7.30pm and Fright Night from 8.30pm–11pm.

Embark on a Ghost Tour Unlike any Other

Step inside after dark for a Halloween Ghost Tour through one of the world’s most haunted prisons.

With an expert guide leading the way, explore the prison’s cells, corridors and grounds as you hear some of its darkest stories. Expect an evening of unsettling encounters, unexpected scares and plenty of things that go bump in the night. With actors and guides bringing the prison to life after dark, you never quite know what you might encounter along the way.

Halloween Ghost Tours take place on selected dates throughout October and on 1st  November. If you’re planning a visit outside these dates, our usual tours and activities are still available.
